Hello. We are John and Clare Phillips and we live in Staffordshire. England. For years we wanted an Alaskan Malamute but didn't have the room or time to commit to the breed. In 1993 things changed and we went on to Barbara Stanier's (ARCTICTREK) puppy list.
It was a long wait, but in March 1995 we were the proud owners of ARCTICTREK'S SHOWSTOPPER (STORM KLOUD'S CHOSEN TO WIN AT HAWKAM X ARCTICTREK'S INDIANA). We loved him so much, he was our friend and he taught us how to show, work and play. We won numerous Best Puppies and Best of Breeds with him including BEST PUPPY at CRUFTS 1996 and then at CRUFTS 2007 we won BEST DOG. We still miss him so much.
In November 1995 we got our second puppy, HAWKAM'S CHASE THE STORM (STORM KLOUD'S CHOSEN TO WIN AT HAWKAM X STORM KLOUD'S DREAM SEEKER AT HAWKAM). She was our first girl and she decided the pack order in our home. She also did very well at showing and if there had been CC's on offer then they both would have been English Champions.
We had our third dog, HAWKAM'S IDOL in August 2002 (HAWKAMS DOUBLE TROUBLE CACIB X HAWKAMS ENIGMA) She enjoyed working more than showing.
In 2004 I became friends with ANDREA SAUBATINE of SNO QUEST KENNELS in America. I had attended the National Speciality on a couple of occasions and in November 2005 I brought home and co-owned AM/CAN CH STORM KLOUD'S UUNDER COVER N BLK WWPDX ( AM CH STORM KLOUD'S YYES JUST SAY YES WTDX. WWPDX X AM CH. AKEELA'S STAR QUEST O' STORM KLOUD WTD. WWPDX. Together we won Best In Shows, Best of Breeds, A CC as well as wins in IRELAND, he also loved to weight pull.
During his time with us he was bred to HAWKAM'S HAPPY GO LUCKY and in March 2006 we had our fifth Malamute CEDARCREEK DRIVING ME CRAZY (a really APT name) she has had limited showing but won BEST PUPPY at CRUFTS as well as a RES CC, she has an excellent record when shown.
Our sixth Malamute arrived from the USA in the summer of 2009. AM CH SNO QUEST'S GOLD STANDARD (BISS AM CH LDC's DALLENBORNE X AM CH SNO QUEST'S PLATINUM PLUS will be shown in the UK in 2010.We are members of the Alaskan Malamute Club of the UK. John has handled in different countries and is occasionally available for handling. He is also on the club's "A" list of judges. Clare is a qualified dog groomer. We have made many friends all over the world.
